One of the effective chemicals that protects plants outdoors and at home is the insecticide Intavir. It has an increased spectrum of action and protects crops from the negative effects of various pests. According to the instructions for use, Intavir can also be used against uninvited guests such as ants, bedbugs, cockroaches and other household insects.

Instructions: how to use the product

The method of using the product corresponds to similar insecticides. For the most effective effect of Inta-vir, the instructions for use suggest the following procedure:

  • the tablet should be dissolved in 7 liters of water at room temperature, always carrying out work in a ventilated place or outside;
  • the composition is applied evenly to all crops, including those not affected by the parasite;
  • fruit trees should be watered more abundantly with Inta-vir, spraying 3-4 liters of chemical on each;
  • a repeat procedure is carried out only if the insects continue to parasitize the plants, but not earlier than after 15 days, and no more than 3 times per agricultural season;
  • the beneficial effect of the product will be significantly reduced if precipitation occurs within 4-5 hours after treatment.

Judging by some reviews, the dissolution of the Inta-vir tablet may require considerable time. In order not to wait, gardeners recommend crushing the product to small pieces or powder before opening the package. If it is poured into water in this form, it will not in any way affect the quality of the drug against parasitic insects.

The product is best used in early spring when the first signs of plant damage appear. At this time, the parasites are just beginning to multiply, so the insecticide will interrupt the harmful process in the bud. In addition, in the spring the fruits have not yet formed, so poison particles will definitely not remain on the products of the future harvest.

The use of Inta-vir in the garden when processing individual crops has some nuances. For example, strawberries should be sprayed before the first flowers appear.

The composition is sprayed onto cherry trees before the fruit turns red. For pear trees and apple trees, Intavir can be a very useful remedy. However, trees should be treated no earlier than two weeks after flowering.

For currants, Inta-vir is bred both before and after the bush blooms. In any case, you will have to spend 1.5 tablets of medicine for a container of 10 liters of water.

The volumes of the composition used may vary significantly depending on the type of parasite or crop being treated:

  1. Vegetable crops are sprayed with 10 liters of solution for every 10 acres.
  2. However, when treating tomatoes and cucumbers with Inta-vir against aphids or against whiteflies, the concentration increases by one and a half times.
  3. Against aphids and codling moths that parasitize pear or apple trees, a ten-liter bucket of solution is required for each tree.
  4. To protect strawberries from weevils, 1.5 liters of Inta-vir are used per hundred square meters.

Due to its tendency to wash away and be affected by wind, the product is best applied in good weather, either in the morning or at dusk. If it suddenly rains after work, the procedure can be repeated the next day. However, in this case, the concentration of the solution should be reduced by 1.5 times, because even after precipitation, a certain proportion of the chemical remains on the surface and in the soil. Inta-vir can also help against ticks.

Before treatment with a warm shower jet, parasites must be washed off the houseplant. The soil in the bowl can be covered with cellophane film. The entire surface of the plant must be disinfected. Additionally, the solution is applied to the windowsill or other place around the flower pot.

The product is also used to kill indoor bedbugs. However, such a procedure will require a strong concentration of the chemical:

  1. You will need to use 2 tablets per liter of water.
  2. Next, you should carefully treat the entire surface of the bed, including small folds and crevices where bloodsuckers can hide.
  3. Bedbugs live even far from the bed: behind radiators, in pieces of furniture, under wallpaper and rugs, in household appliances. For successful treatment, it is necessary to identify all insect nests so that their population disappears once and for all.

The drug acts on cockroaches and ants. The rules for using the product in this case are no different from the methods of treating bedbugs. By the way, Inta-vir against ants is also used in the garden. To do this, sprinkle the chemical powder on the soil around the anthill.

You should not skimp on the concentration of the composition and you should strictly follow all the requirements of the instructions regarding the frequency of the procedure. If at least a few affected plants are missed while working in the garden, after some time the parasites will not only fill the treated crops, but will also become resistant to the chemical. The same applies to missed nests of parasites in the apartment.

From household insects

With the help of Intavir you can quickly get rid of such uninvited guests as ants, bedbugs, fleas, and cockroaches.

In this case, it is necessary to carry out actions in the following sequence.

  1. Clear the premises of pets.
  2. Cover the aquarium with thick material or film.
  3. Carry out wet cleaning.
  4. Free up hard-to-reach places.
  5. Prepare a working product at the rate of 1 tablet per 0.3-0.6 liters of water.
  6. Spray areas where insects are likely to accumulate.
  7. Leave the room closed for 2 hours.
  8. When finished, thoroughly ventilate the room.

Subsequently, you should not clean for the next 3 days. If insects reappear, the procedure can be repeated after 10 days.

Directions for use and dosage

When applying, the concentration of the product, the type of pest, and the timing of treatment (depending on the type of crop) are important. Instructions for use of Intavir:

To achieve maximum results, you should follow simple rules:

  • spraying Intavir on garden plants is carried out in the morning or evening;
  • the mixture is prepared in the fresh air or in a well-ventilated area;
  • the composition should be applied evenly to the affected area and areas not affected by parasites;
  • When spraying indoor plants with Intavir or using the product in residential premises, it is necessary to limit the presence of pets and children near the treated area, and cover the aquarium with fish.

Preparation of the solution

To use Intavir effectively, read the instructions. The diluted liquid has a pungent odor. Its action is influenced by the freshness of the solution and adherence to the preparation procedure:

  • The mixture is prepared in a well-ventilated area or in the fresh air.
  • 1 tablet (crush to quickly prepare the composition) should be dissolved in a small amount of water, then the volume should be increased to 10 liters.
  • If the treatment area is small, take half an Intavir tablet and 5 liters of water.

Preparation of Intavir

Analogues of Inta-vir

This is not the only drug on the market that can cope with pests of home plants and garden crops. Among the insecticides of this class are:

  1. Alatar – suitable for processing apple trees, cabbage, potatoes, onions, strawberries, currants, ornamental and flower crops.
  2. Arrivo is a means for controlling pests on potatoes, melons, watermelons, beets, and grapes.
  3. Spark - used against caterpillars, colorado larvae, aphids, weevils and other pests.
  4. Shar Pei - helps get rid of pests on cabbage, apple trees, and grapes.

Intavir against aphids can be mixed with other chemicals, for example, this product is compatible with the following insecticides: Fufanon, Hom, Zircon, Ridomil and others. The amount of Intavir in the mixture must be reduced.

When is use indicated?

You should not hope for a miracle if even a few pests are noticed on the crops being grown, because if you do nothing, then within a week their population can reach unimaginable proportions. In addition, experienced gardeners prefer not to wait for uninvited guests to appear, treating plants even before flowering and fruiting for preventive purposes.

At the same time, maximum effectiveness can be observed when fighting representatives of such families as Homoptera, Coleoptera and Lepidoptera, which translated from Latin means “homoptera”, “coleoptera” and “lepidoptera”.

It is also worth remembering that the drug is absolutely non-phytotoxic (that is, safe for plants) and can have a protective effect for a maximum period of up to two weeks.

This means that after the specified period, repeated processing may be necessary. In addition, Intavir does not work for treating ticks, as it does not have the ability to penetrate the protective shell of these pests. That is why you should not use the product to combat such parasites, much less cover the plants with bags, giving preference instead to broad-spectrum acaricides.

Advantages and disadvantages

It cannot be said that Inta-vir is a drug that is unconditionally unique and has no drawbacks. Drugs of this type cannot be like that. Reviews are 65% positive, since the effect on 52 species of insects is a significant positive point.

But there is the remaining 35%, which are either neutral in nature or have negative statements. There are some disadvantages. And they must be taken into account before purchasing the substance.

In addition to its wide spectrum of action, the instructions and reviews indicate that Intavir for bedbugs is an effective remedy. The advantages also include:

  • guarantee of elimination of the listed types of parasites;
  • preservation of plantings, both cultural and decorative;
  • a reliable shield against parasitic insects with simple use and preparation;
  • saving the harvest by 90%;
  • prevents damage to agricultural products by slugs, worms and caterpillars;
  • odorless, colorless.

There are a few fewer disadvantages, but they are quite significant. This is not only an effect on honey plants (like most insecticides). But also the ability of pests to develop immunity to the active component.

Inta-vir is completely incapable of affecting larvae and eggs that insects have managed to lay. But the main negative points are:

  1. Teratogenic effect.
  2. Helps change the composition of the soil. Destroys beneficial soil bacteria.
  3. If there was rain before the moment of absorption, watering will wash off Intavir.

Properties of the drug

The active component of Intavir, when ingested, has a paralyzing effect on the body. Pests are affected by nerve endings, spasms and convulsions appear, which lead to death. The product is not dangerous for plants, but for humans, animals, and beneficial insects (bees, wasps, bumblebees), the toxicity of the composition is high.

Properties of Intavir

Insecticide (pesticide) Inta-vir against plant pests

Important restrictions when working with the drug

The most important condition is that the drug Inta-vir cannot be used on flowering plants, this can lead to mass death of bees. Activities for processing fruit, berry and vegetable crops must be stopped 3-4 weeks before harvesting the products (in the instructions this is stated as the “waiting period”). Instead, during the flowering periods and shortly before the ripening of the crop (if urgently needed), the biological agents Fitoverm and Akarin are used (can cope with any aphids, caterpillars, young larvae, various mites), as well as Bitoxibacillin and Lepidocid (from some varieties of aphids and caterpillars).

The substance only affects insects; there is no point in using the drug against fungal, bacterial, or viral diseases. Preventive early spring spraying of the entire garden with Inta-Vir, when the pests are still dormant, is also ineffective; This is unnecessary harm to the environment and a waste of effort, time and money for the farmer.

If there is an unused solution of a chemical left, do not pour it into bodies of water or near them: this is harmful to fish and other aquatic life. The liquid should be buried in a hole under a layer of soil: in light soil the compound is destroyed in a month, and in heavy soil - in two.

Operating principle of Inta-vir

For centuries, dried flowers of a plant called Dalmatian chamomile (pyrethrum) have been used against harmful insects. It was only in the second half of the twentieth century that chemists synthesized similar artificial substances called pyrethroids. They have a hundreds of times stronger effect on insects. In 1971, scientists obtained the second generation pyrethroid cypermethrin. It is this insecticide (pesticide) that forms the basis of a special tablet known as Inta-vir.

The tablet of the drug is diluted in water, and a cloudy solution of cypermethrin with a slight characteristic odor is formed. When sprayed, the substance settles in a thin layer on the plants without penetrating into the tissues. Insects come into contact with the treated surface and ingest particles of the chemical with plant food. The poison quickly destroys their nervous system and leads to death. However, this insecticide does not kill insect eggs.

Cypermethrin coating can have a detrimental effect on pests for two weeks (up to a month).

There is evidence that repeated use of the drug over several years can lead to a weakening of its effects - some insects adapt and become less sensitive to this pesticide. Different insecticides must be alternated.

Main characteristics of the product

Inta-vir is a synthetic analogue of naturally occurring pyrethrin poisons.
They are concentrated to a greater extent in chamomile or chrysanthemum flowers, protecting them from harmful insects that can destroy the inflorescence. The main active ingredient in the chemical composition of the insecticide is cypermethrin (3.75% consistency). The poison actively affects the nervous system of parasites, leading to paralysis and subsequent death of representatives of about 50 species of garden pests. Some of them die the very next day after poisoning. Other species are destroyed by repeated use of the product over 1-2 months. The drug is most toxic to the following types of insects:

  • Colorado potato beetles;
  • cabbage whites;
  • moth;
  • caterpillars - leaf eaters;
  • sawfly;
  • carrot fly;
  • thrips;
  • codling moths;
  • bedbugs and others.

Inta-vir also helps against aphids. But the drug will be especially effective when used together with another chemical.

Plants remain neutral to the action of the active substance. But, unfortunately, Intavir can be dangerous for beneficial insects that pollinate flowers. Therefore, you should not use an insecticide unless absolutely necessary or for preventive purposes.

Inta-vir is also used for indoor plants. However, this should be done with caution, primarily because the drug is toxic. After using it, the room should be left for several hours and then thoroughly ventilated.

Application of Intavir in the garden

The product is used according to the instructions for use, which are printed on the back of the package. The working solution for spraying with Inta-vir is applied immediately before use. Treatment is carried out in the evening, in order to avoid burns from residual liquid on the leaves of plants, or in cloudy weather. Another reason for this use may be a decrease in the activity of the drug at temperatures above +25 degrees.

Spraying is carried out by uniformly spraying the drug over the surface of the leaves. Moreover, they treat not only damaged areas, but also those where there are no obvious signs of pests. Be sure to carry out repeated treatments 2 weeks after the previous one. Treatment with Inta-vir is carried out no more than three times per season. If you notice that there is no effect from using this drug, then use analogues. Since pests can become addicted to Inta-vir.

Treatments are stopped a month before the expected harvest date. If necessary, drugs with a shorter waiting period are used to kill pests.

Consumption rate for vegetables

To treat potatoes against the Colorado potato beetle, dissolve 1 tablet per 10 liters of water. And for vegetables (cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes) – 1 tablet per 5 liters. Treatment is carried out by spraying during the period of mass accumulation of pests and 2 weeks after the first treatment.

Against onion or carrot flies, the product is diluted in the proportion of 1 tablet per 10 liters of water and watered at the roots of the plants.

Processing berry fields

To protect strawberries, currants, gooseberries, raspberries, the product is diluted at the rate of 1 tablet per 10 liters of water. If a lot of pests have accumulated, the concentration of the solution is increased by dissolving 1.5-2 tablets in a bucket of water. Treatment is carried out only before flowering and after harvesting. The consumption rate is approximately 1 liter per bush.

The same solution (1 tablet per 10 liters of water) is applied to process cherries. Spraying is carried out during coloring of berries. 2.5 liters of product are used per tree.

The grapes are sprayed with a solution prepared at the rate of 2 tablets per bucket of water. The treatment is carried out twice: the first time during flowering, the second time during berry set.

Flower ornamental crops

Treatment of flower crops against aphids, thrips, and leaf-eating caterpillars is carried out with a solution prepared from 1 tablet and 10 liters of water. Plants are sprayed at the rate of 2 liters per 1 square meter. m.

Ornamental coniferous crops are sprayed at the beginning of the growing season, spending 2 liters per young plant and 5 liters per adult.

How much does Intavir cost, where can you buy it, analogues

Intavir is a fairly cheap drug. Its price is within 10-20 rubles per package. This product is sold in any gardening store.

If for some reason you cannot buy this product or you have not seen the effect of its use, then you can use its analogues:

  • Aktara,
  • Akarin (Agravertin),
  • Aktellik,
  • Decis,
  • Thunder,
  • Green soap,
  • Spark,
  • Confidor,
  • Karate,
  • Fly eater,
  • Taboo,
  • Tanrek,
  • Fas,
  • Fitoverm,
  • Fufanon.

What is it used for?

The insecticide is recommended to be used to eliminate harmful beetles, larvae or mites from your pet. There is a list of pests that are sensitive to the drug:

  • thrips;
  • leaf rollers;
  • whitefly;
  • codling moth;
  • aphid;
  • flower beetle

When exposed to an affected flower, part of the drug spreads to surfaces in the room. Household bedbugs and the ubiquitous cockroaches respond positively to this disinfection. They also react like pests of indoor flowers - they die.

It is noted that when sprayed over agricultural crops, not all types of parasites die safely. Some show resistance to this type of chemical. In this case, it is recommended to use other means of control.

Impact principle

The effect of Intavira is similar to the ancient method: the use of dried Dalmatian chamomile flowers. The flower has been used since ancient times and is trustworthy. Peretroid or the second generation of cypermethrin is an analogue of the natural substance.

The active ingredient is poisonous. After application to the foliage, the bark is effective (without increasing humidity) for up to 28-30 days. It enters the body of insects along with food and begins to destroy nerve cells. The applied preparation is not absorbed into plant juices, but remains on the surface in the form of a thin film.

Once ingested, the toxic component kills the insect. Approximate waiting time is up to 3 days. But the substance can only kill adults. Intavir has no effect on larvae and eggs. If it rains, the working solution (film) is washed off.

The pesticide cannot be used multiple times per season. Annual use leads to pests becoming accustomed to Intavir. Therefore, it is recommended to alternately apply insecticides.

Need to know! Intavir is a product that helps get rid of bed bugs. The toxicity is so great that in three doses there is a chance of eliminating the problem forever. It's not just furniture that is treated. Skirting boards, wallpaper, and radiators should be treated. After eliminating the insects, the room is ventilated and thoroughly washed with special products.

What is Intavir used for?

The product "Intavir" against pests has a wide range of effects on parasitic heteroptera and other insect pests. They use Intavir against spider mites and other pests that parasitize plant organisms:

From scale insects

At the first signs of appearance on floral or decorative foliage crops, indoor flowers, primary treatment is carried out. In cases of relapse, it is advisable to repeat the procedure.

"Intavir" fights ants well

From ants

A special product has been prepared for these pests. To exterminate red (house) and garden ants, make a bait or purchase a ready-made one. Baits are placed in places of migration of ants of all types, near places of mass habitat.

From ticks

To get rid of house ticks, prepare a solution or bait. The solution is used to treat surfaces along the path of insect movement. It is also sprayed on tall grass, where dangerous insects are preparing to attack. When spider mites appear on plants, all their parts and accessories are irrigated with the working solution. After a week or two, repeat spraying is carried out.

From aphids

Treat crops affected by aphid colonies after abundant flowering

It is especially important to treat the back side of the leaves.

From weevil

The pest can be destroyed by treating the plants with a prepared Intavir solution before the flowering period begins. The last spraying procedure can be performed 20-30 days before harvest.

The product is used against aphids

From crickets

Spraying surfaces and tall grasses within the radius of possible insect habitat helps prevent loud night singers.

From bedbugs

Bedbug baits are left in the area where parasites are expected to live and where they are concentrated, along the path of their movement. When a mass infestation occurs on trees, the crowns are thoroughly sprayed.

From whitefly

Crops of interest to this parasite are treated repeatedly. The latter procedure is permissible 25 days before harvesting ripened fruits.

Purpose and action

How to replant lavender in the fall: is it possible to do this and when is it better, rules

Intavir belongs to the category of pyrethroids. Pyrethroids are members of insecticides, so named because of their similar structure and mechanism of action to natural pyrethrins. Pyrethrins are plant-derived insecticides found in the flowers of pyrethrum, wild ash and chrysanthemum. Pyrethroids have an effect on the nervous system of harmful insects when they come into contact with pre-irrigated vegetation. As a result, after 48–72 hours, paralyzed insects die.

Intavir is used to exterminate many harmful insects:

  1. night light;
  2. cabbage butterfly;
  3. codling moth;
  4. Colorado beetle;
  5. vesicularis;
  6. carrot fly;
  7. aphid;
  8. leaf-eating caterpillars;
  9. leaf roller;
  10. fluorimea;
  11. sawfly;
  12. apple weevil.

In addition, this product quite often exterminates cockroaches, house bugs, fleas and red forest ants in the house.

Composition and release form

The insecticide Intavir is produced in the form of a tablet, easily soluble in water, or a powder weighing 8 grams. The active ingredient of this product is cypermethrin containing 37.5 g/kg. The most pronounced effect of Intavir is noticeable in the destruction of aphids, vesicles, whiteflies and caterpillars.

Consumption rates for the drug to protect various crops

Instructions for use of Intavir are printed on each package of insect control product:

  1. Dissolve 1 tablet in 7-10 liters of water.
  2. Apply the solution to crops infected with pests, as well as clean ones growing in the neighborhood.
  3. Secondary treatment is done if the pests have not died. At least 15 days must pass between procedures.

The insecticide cannot be used for preventive treatment of garden and vegetable crops, as well as at home. Inta-vir is intended only for the destruction of large concentrations of pests.

  1. To treat one apple or pear tree against leaf rollers, aphids and codling moths, you will need 8-10 liters of solution.
  2. You can treat plantings of strawberries, strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes against weevils, aphids and whiteflies with 1.5 liters of ready-made solution per 1m2.
  3. Potatoes, beets, carrots and cabbage are sprayed with the preparation based on 10 liters per 100 m2.
  4. A cherry tree will require 2.5 liters of product.
  5. A liter of prepared product is enough for currant and gooseberry bushes.

Inta-vir is easily washed off by precipitation, so spraying the garden and garden plants should be carried out in dry weather. It is recommended to choose morning, evening or spray twice in one day. Secondary treatment is carried out if the pests have not died. At least 15 days must pass between procedures.

Spraying is done three times a season after the plants have bloomed. The last treatment can be a maximum of 20 days before harvesting vegetables and fruits.

If the use of this product does not affect the number of pests, then you should choose another drug. If you need to spray houseplants, do this in a strictly ventilated room or on the balcony.

Storage conditions

The drug retains its protective properties for 2 years from the date of release. In this case, the temperature should be within -10-+45 degrees.

Opened or damaged packaging is not subject to further storage. The product should be placed away from food and medications, as well as in places inaccessible to children. The prepared solution should be used within 1 day, as later it loses its properties.

You can achieve quick and effective results by strictly following the instructions for use of Intavir. Reviews from flower growers and gardeners only confirm this fact. But you should understand that any disregard of the manufacturer’s recommendations may negatively affect the final result.

Storage and expiration dates

The chemical should not be left near products that are to be subsequently consumed by humans. The storage area should be inaccessible to animals and children

To prevent the product from losing its qualities, it is important to monitor the temperature values, which should not fall below – 90 C and not rise above +30 degrees

The shelf life of the finished drug Intavir against the Colorado potato beetle is indicated on the packaging. As for the finished solution, its storage is prohibited. The solution must be used within several hours after its preparation. After opening the package, subsequent storage is carried out in a bag that can be hermetically sealed.

Security measures

Do not allow animals, pregnant women or children into the premises or during work. All activities, including breeding, must take place in a protective suit. If there are hives: bees are not allowed to fly for five days. It is not advisable to allow pets and poultry into the treated area.

Causes significant harm to humans and domestic animals. After all work, you must thoroughly wash your face and hands. Remember that personal safety is ensured only by the farmer himself.

Instructions for use of the drug Intavir against the Colorado potato beetle

Intavir for the Colorado potato beetle is a poisonous water-soluble chemical from Russia. The chemical is available in the form of tablets weighing 8 grams or in powder form. The product is recommended for use in household plots and large farms as a reliable insecticide effective against 50 varieties of garden crop pests. The main active ingredient in the composition is cypermethrin. The concentration of the substance in Intavir is about 38 grams per 1 kg. After spraying the plants, a microfilm is formed on its surface, which, when sprayed with the drug, covers the surface of the plant with a microfilm. If the product enters the body of insects that harm potato plantings and eat foliage, it leads to paralysis of the pests and their death within 24 hours. The effect of the chemical lasts for two weeks after spraying the shoots.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of Intavir?

There are quite a large number of modern chemical preparations on the market today designed to combat garden pests, among which Intavir stands out. For the first time, such a remedy was developed based on a squeeze from medicinal plants such as chamomile and tansy.

The benefits of the chemical include:

  • high efficiency against pests;
  • the ability to combat a large number of pest species with one means;
  • duration of action;
  • excellent combination of price and quality parameters;
  • safety for humans and warm-blooded animals;
  • lack of accumulation quality in plants, since after 20 days the main active components completely decompose into harmless elements.

The drug is effective in combating not only the Colorado potato beetle, it also copes well with thrips, white butterflies, carrot flies, aphids and a number of other pests of garden crops. One of the advantages of the chemical is the possibility of its use in a greenhouse. The product is one of the few that does not have an unpleasant specific odor.

Among the disadvantages of the chemical preparation is a special requirement for weather conditions to be able to carry out work on spraying shoots. They can only be carried out in the absence of rain, as during precipitation the drug is washed off with water and its effectiveness decreases.

How is Intavir used?

To use the drug for pest control, an aqueous solution is first prepared, which is then used to spray the plants. To do this, take one tablet or sachet for dilution in 10 liters of warm water. First, the drug is diluted in a small volume of water, gradually increasing the amount to the recommended value. If it is necessary to treat a small area of potato planting, half a tablet can be used, and the amount of water should be reduced to 5 liters.

The best time for spraying is considered to be morning or evening hours. Treatment of potato plantings against the Colorado potato beetle is carried out in dry weather without wind at a temperature of no more than 25 C. The shoots are treated completely, including carefully treating the inner and outer surfaces of the leaf blades. The application of the solution is carried out using a continuous method, avoiding the presence of untreated areas during the work, even if there are no obvious signs of larvae or beetles on the potatoes.

The product can be used to control pests of other garden plants. In this case, it is recommended to adhere to the following recommendations:

  • thrips, aphids - 8 grams for every 10 liters of warm water;
  • codling moth, caterpillar - 1 tablet is diluted in a 10-liter bucket of water;
  • weevil - 1.5 tablets per 10 liters of water, sprayed during the growing season;
  • whitefly - 2 tablets for every 10 liters of water.

Such plants are treated during the growing season. Currant glasswort is treated with a solution of 1 tablet dissolved in 10 liters of water during the period before and after flowering.

The drug is effective not only for combating the Colorado potato beetle. The product can be used to treat “house plants”. To do this, the tablet is divided into 8 parts, the resulting portion weighing 1 gram is dissolved in 1 liter of water. On average, this amount of working solution is enough for half a standard window sill, completely filled with plants.

Composition and release form

The insect repellent Intavir is a Russian development, it is presented:

  • water-soluble white tablets, packaged in 8 pieces per package;
  • powder, in one package – 8 grams.

Intavir is an insecticidal agent belonging to the class of pyrethroids (synthetic analogues of natural insecticides found in chrysanthemums, tansy, and chamomile). The chemical composition of Intavir is presented in the table:

Precautionary measures

Opened packaging cannot be stored. If the product is accidentally spilled, it must be collected in a bag and covered with sand, the bag should be packed and thrown into a container with household waste.

And although the manufacturer believes that the drug does not have a toxic effect on humans, you should wear protective glasses and gloves when working with Inta-Vir solutions. After work, the face and hands should be thoroughly washed with soap and running water, and the clothes in which the treatment was carried out should be changed.

Under no circumstances is it recommended to use containers intended for food purposes to prepare working solutions.

Insecticide is one of the important drugs used by gardeners, gardeners and flower growers. Finding one that is effective, has the fewest side effects, and is inexpensive is difficult. But it's quite possible. When selecting a protective agent against parasites, they also take into account the fact that it must destroy not just a dozen pests, but much more.

If we consider the drug Intavir, then it meets all the indicators and requirements put forward by farmers. The product can be used in large and small areas, for fruit, berry and vegetable crops, on all types of soil. The spectrum of action of the insecticide includes more than 5 dozen parasitic insects.

Features and types

The Iskra line of insecticides is produced domestically. The first pest control product Iskra appeared in 2000, and since then the range has been constantly updated with new products.

In total, the kit includes five insecticides:

The composition contains various active components, which allows the use of Iskra group insecticides against most pests that attack vegetable beds and trees in the garden.

Effectiveness against insects has been proven in practice:

  • leaf-eating caterpillars;
  • whiteflies;
  • leaf roller;
  • spider mite;
  • moths;
  • aphids;
  • thrips;
  • Colorado potato beetle.

Most insects do not develop resistance to Spark, and one procedure is enough for an entire season. Suitable for all types of plantings:

  • open beds;
  • greenhouses;
  • film greenhouses, polycarbonate.

The product gives the best results at a temperature of +25ºC, which allows the insecticide to be used without restrictions in the southern regions of the country. Spraying with working solutions is allowed at any stage of the growing season. The best time to use is morning or evening.

It is not allowed to process any crops during the day to avoid leaf burns.

Basically, one spraying is carried out per season (less often - two), with a mandatory wait of 2-3 weeks between them.

The funds are issued in the form:

  • tablets;
  • water emulsion;
  • powder;
  • sticks (sticks).

Dosages and consumption of drugs depend on the type of pest, crop, growing conditions, and extent of damage.

Advantages and disadvantages

The undoubted advantage of the Inta-Vir insecticide is its wide spectrum of action. This eliminates the need for owners of private household plots to keep in reserve or urgently purchase expensive specialized drugs at peak prices: Inta-Vir affects 52 types of dangerous gardening insect pests, see video:

Video: about the effectiveness of Inta-Vir

It is also important that concentrated Inta-Vira DV has a very faint odor and almost no taste. Working solutions have almost no smell at all

Therefore, amateur gardeners use Inta-Vir to save the harvest of even fruits that are susceptible to foreign odors and tastes, such as varietal plums, see video:

Video: about the use of Inta-Vir for fruits

In private household plots for own consumption, another circumstance is revealed. Losses of 10% of the harvest from a personal plot or summer cottage “for your table” have virtually no effect on the average annual budget of the family. But the costs of pesticides, which ensure 100% safety of the crop, are felt. Therefore, Inta-Vir is not very welcome on commercial farms: 10% crop losses can mean a loss of profitability in the current year. But in private household plots “for oneself” the refusal of Confidor, Iskra Zolotoy, etc. in favor of Inta-Vir may mean some savings.

However, Inta-Vir's disadvantages are also serious:

  1. Causes resistance of affected objects, i.e. Inta-Vir can be used no more often than every other year;
  2. Non-selective: it destroys no less species of beneficial insects than harmful ones;
  3. Capable of having a negative impact on the embryos of vertebrates (including humans), the development of children and the genome of adults;
  4. Highly toxic to bees and fish;
  5. Does not repel bees by smell;
  6. Remains in the soil for a long time (see below) and destroys soil microfauna;
  7. Does not affect eggs and resting stages of pests;
  8. Not very effective against insects with dense covers and sucking pests;
  9. Washed away by rain;
  10. Quite a long waiting time for a protective effect (1-3 days) and a short period (7-10 days);
  11. Long waiting time before harvesting – up to 30 days.

Super sticks “Golden Spark” for busy gardeners

There are special sticks on sale based on this insecticide. They contain imidacloprid, an active chemical that kills pests.

Moreover, they contain nutritional compounds:

  • phosphorus;
  • nitrogen;
  • potassium

In this case, the grower is required to do only one thing - completely immerse (in a vertical position) the fertilizer in the soil substrate and then moderately water the flower. A large amount of water does not contribute to the absorption of nutrients by the crop.

To get an excellent result in this matter, you need to correctly distribute the sticks:

  • if the diameter of the pot is 6-9 cm, then you will need only 1 stick;
  • 9-14 cm - 2 pcs.;
  • 15-20 cm - 3 pcs.;
  • 20-30 cm - 4 pcs.;
  • 30-40 cm - 5 pcs.;
  • From 40 cm - 6 pcs.

As indicated in the instructions for the Iskra pest control product, the death of insects occurs 7-10 days after placing the insecticide in the ground. These devices are pushed at the same distance from each other, preferably around the perimeter of the growth point. Since the insecticide fertilizer dissolves quite slowly in water, its validity lasts up to 6-8 weeks.

Instructions for use of Intavir

One tablet (or sachet) of the drug is diluted in ten liters of water. Processing of potatoes is carried out using a sprayer in dry, warm weather in the evening or morning at an air temperature of no higher than 25 degrees. Plants are treated entirely on both sides of the leaf. Spraying is carried out using a continuous method, not missing bushes without larvae and beetles. After spraying, storage of the induced solution is not allowed.

Note: When diluting the tablet, the solution has an odor, but after treating the plants with pesticides they do not smell.

Security measures

  • The treatment is carried out in special clothing, glasses and a respirator;
  • Smoking is prohibited while spraying potatoes.
  • After working with the drug, as well as before eating, be sure to wash your face and hands with soap and take a shower;
  • Pregnant and lactating women should not be treated with Intavir.

Providing first aid for poisoning

If a toxic chemical solution gets on your skin or eyes, wash it off with running cold water. If ingested, drink 1 liter of water, induce vomiting, and go to the nearest hospital.

Conclusion

Intavir does not accumulate in the fruits and leaves of the plant, reliably protects against the Colorado potato beetle, and is harmless to people and animals. Therefore, it deserves to take a place in the gardener’s arsenal.

First aid

The drug can cause unexpected reactions upon penetration into the gastrointestinal tract and mucous membranes. In these situations it is urgent:

  • drink from 5 to 8 tablets. activated carbon;
  • rinse the mouth with a pale pink solution of manganese;
  • take a mild laxative + one and a half liters of liquid;
  • seek qualified help from a medical institution.

If unprotected skin is affected, repeated rinsing with cool, clean water is required.

How to treat indoor plants with Intavir

The instructions indicate the effective effect of the drug when any insects appear in the house: aphids, thrips, cockroaches, etc. Spraying is made easy by dissolving 8 g of the drug in a bucket of water.

Since a whole bucket of solution in the house is not useful, one liter of water in which 1 g of the chemical is diluted is enough.

Based on user reviews, it becomes clear that Intavir is not always effective. This is explained by the fact that many indoor plants have a special leaf coating that is poorly wetted by an aqueous solution.

Therefore, take an increased dose of the drug and wash the leaves of the indoor plant in a large amount of solution.
