Treatment of premises from various insects

The use of a product against certain types of insects may differ slightly due to the habitat of different species.

  • Bedbugs. The processing procedure is the same in almost everything, except that when fighting bedbugs, special attention must be paid to the places where linoleum lags from the floor, places where wallpaper peels off from the wall, baseboards, the cavity between the wall and the baseboard, and carpets. You should also determine in advance the places where these insects most actively accumulate in your apartment.
  • Cockroaches. Treatment against cockroaches differs in that in this case it is necessary to pay special attention to places with the greatest dampness, as well as to the joints of pipes (provided there are no leaks) of the water supply, heating and sewerage systems.
  • Mosquitoes. Depending on the building (private house or apartment in a high-rise building), they treat either only the inside of the premises, or both the surfaces of the walls from the street and from the inside. You should also treat the basement, not forgetting to coordinate this with other residents.

Purpose and areas of application

"Agran, EC" is a preparation for professional use that has an active insectoacaricidal and fumigation effect against the adults and larvae of arthropods - cockroaches, ants, bedbugs, fleas, flies, mosquitoes, wasps and rat mites and other insect pests.

The preparation "Agran" is intended for the treatment of industrial and residential premises, as well as premises for public utility purposes (hotels, hostels, dormitories), sports facilities, public catering establishments (canteens, cafes, etc.).

"Agran" is approved for disinfestation in medical and children's institutions.

Poisoning with the drug

Firstly, the following factors will be signs of poisoning:

  • Strong headache.
  • Nausea.
  • Weakness.
  • Coughing.
  • Pupils that are too constricted.
  • Abdominal pain.

If Agran gets on your skin, you need to wash it off immediately. To do this, you need to take a cotton pad and gently blot the contact area, do not rub so that the product does not penetrate the skin. You need to wash the affected area with plenty of plain water and soap.

It also happens that there is a feeling of severe irritation of the mucous membrane of the eye. In this case, it is necessary to drip the eyes with a 30% solution of sodium sulfacyl. To get rid of pain, you can use 2% novocaine. Since such drugs are not available in every home, it is worth purchasing them before starting work, just in case. Atropine is a very effective remedy for combating Agran.

Composition and dosage form

The basis of the drug "AGRAN, CE" is two active ingredients : CYPERMETHRIN , 5% and CHLORPYRIPHOS , 50%, as well as various types of emulsifiers (8%) and an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent - up to 100%.

Preparative form – EC (emulsion concentrate), a transparent liquid of brown-yellow color.

Packing: 50 ml and 100 ml bottles; bottle 1 l.; 5 l canister; barrels of 50 l, 100 l, 200 l.

"Agran" is a professional product for disinfestation of industrial and domestic facilities

What is Agran

Agran is an insectoacaricidal chemical that has a negative effect not only on bedbugs, but also on other parasitic insects in the house. The drug contains chlorpyrifos 50% and cypermethrin 5%; the mechanism of action of these substances makes it possible to destroy parasites not only when the components of the drug enter the body, but also during normal contact with it. That is, bedbugs die, even if the substance ends up on their body.

Agran has a prolonged action, that is, substances dangerous to bedbugs are released over several days, which makes it possible to destroy hatched larvae in the future. After applying the drug to all places where bedbugs live, their death can be observed within one week or even more. Therefore, you need to understand that these parasites can continue to bother you for several days after disinfestation of the living space.

Agran is sold in small bottles and contains a fairly concentrated liquid. Before use, the drug must be diluted in the required proportion. The percentage of active ingredient depends on how you are going to treat all surfaces in the house, that is, whether you will spray or simply wet the surfaces. Agran has a fairly high degree of toxicity and therefore, when using it at home, you must follow all the protective measures indicated on the bottle.

Mechanism of action

Two active ingredients from different chemical classes ensure maximum effectiveness of the drug:

a) CYPERMETHRIN (chemical class pyrethroids) has a contact-intestinal effect and has a high initial activity. Paralyzes the nervous system of both larvae and adult insects. It does not have a systemic effect, but remains for a long time on treated surfaces (20-30 days), as it is quite resistant to high temperatures and ultraviolet rays. Not resistant.

b) CHLORPYRIPHOS (chemical class - organophosphorus compounds) is the most persistent of the organophosphorus compounds. Chlorpyrifos enters the insect's body through the respiratory tract, stomach or outer integument. Chlorpyrifos, entering the body, phosphorylates certain substrates (for example, protein enzymes contained in nerve tissues) and disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses. As a result, convulsive muscle activity (tremor) occurs, which turns into paralysis, leading to the death of the insect. Chlorpyrifos, in comparison with other organophosphorus compounds, exhibits a pronounced intestinal effect. The duration of action of chlorpyrifos is up to 40-70 days. It remains in the soil for up to 60-120 days. In addition, it can be adsorbed by soil organic matter and remain stable for almost two years.

The product has acute insectoacaricidal activity for 24-48 hours and a residual effect for 3-5 weeks.

Does Agran kill bedbug eggs?

Generally speaking, the ovicidal effect of Agran, that is, its ability to kill bedbug embryos developing in eggs, remains questionable today.

On the one hand, many organophosphorus compounds, in experiments on other insects, demonstrate the ability to infect eggs and prevent the hatching of larvae from them. At the same time, the effectiveness of chlorpyrifos specifically and specifically against bedbug eggs has not been strictly confirmed, and therefore one cannot be sure that the eggs will die even with direct treatment of bedbug nests with Agran.

Cypermethrin does not have an ovicidal effect.

In any case, even before the first use of Agran, you must initially understand that even if some of the bedbug eggs are destroyed by the product and the nymphs do not hatch from them, then there will most likely still be unharmed eggs in the room, on which the drug will not affect. From these eggs, after the death of all adult bedbugs and larvae, young shoots will hatch. Therefore, repeated treatment with Agran is required in most cases.

f) Destruction of MOSQUITOES

Application rate: 2.75 g. /1 l. water.

Spray the mosquito breeding sites indoors, as well as the outer walls of buildings, summer gazebos and verandas. As well as all places where mosquitoes hide, including basements. Regular treatments - no more than once a month.

g) Destruction of RAT TICKS

Application rate: 5.5 g. /1 l. water.

Communication pipes, walls, manholes, floors, areas near heating devices and thermal communications, lower parts of furniture, cracks and other places where rodents are expected to live are subject to treatment. Repeated treatment is carried out 10-15 days after the first.

h) “Agran” for destroying OS

Application rate: 10g/1l. water.

The treatment is carried out in the attics of houses, terraces, verandas, summer outbuildings, and sheds. If a nest is found, carefully cover it with film, leaving a hole for the sprayer, and spray the drug inside. After processing, seal the bag tightly. The death of insects occurs within one hour due to contact and fumigation effects. It is important to keep your distance and use sprayers with telescopic tubes to reduce the risk of being stung. Processing of nests is carried out in the summer and until the beginning of autumn, because The families of wasps are annual and they do not return to old nests.

Directions for use (indoors)

Using Agran is much easier than professional insecticides, but this does not mean that the instructions can be ignored. On the contrary, unprofessional use implies strict adherence to instructions.

  1. Prepare the room by removing personal items, food, bedding, curtains and dishes.
  2. Remove people not involved in processing.
  3. Wear personal protective equipment (suit, long sleeves, rubber gloves, respirator, special glasses.
  4. Prepare the solution according to the instructions.
  5. Carry out the treatment using about 50 ml of product per 1 square meter. m. Particular attention should be paid to baseboards, furniture legs, as well as the back of the furniture.
  6. Leave the room for 2–4 hours.
  7. Open the windows for 1–2 hours to ventilate the room.
  8. Carry out a wet cleaning, paying special attention to surfaces that people come into contact with most often. Skirting boards and walls do not need to be washed so that the effect of the product lasts longer.
  9. After a week, evaluate the situation. If there are no insects, then you can carry out a complete wet cleaning. If the insects remain, you will have to repeat the procedure.

After the product has worn off, you should carry out a general wet cleaning to get rid of any remaining product on surfaces, as well as remove dead insects.
According to the author of the article, you should return to an apartment treated with Agran after the smell has completely (or almost completely) disappeared. This is due to the fact that the time periods indicated in free sources are an average value, which can vary greatly in different rooms, depending on the strength of the draft during ventilation, the number of fabrics and porous surfaces.

Limitations and security issues

Kon belongs to class 3 (moderately hazardous substances), its working solution - aqueous emulsion (0.55%) belongs to class 4 (low-hazardous substances).

  • ventilate the room for at least 1 hour in the absence of people;
  • 24 hours after disinsection, carry out wet cleaning of the room using a soap-soda solution (soap + 30-50 g of soda ash per 1 liter of water);
  • carefully treat surfaces - tables, stair handrails, door handles, etc.

First aid for poisoning

If safety rules are violated or in accidents, acute poisoning may develop, the signs of which are: unpleasant taste in the mouth, weakness, vomiting, headache, nausea (increased by smoking, eating), abdominal pain, constriction of the pupil, irritation of the respiratory system etc.

a) In case of poisoning THROUGH THE RESPIRATORY TRACT, you should: go out into the fresh air, rinse your mouth with water or a 2% solution of baking soda, then drink 1-2 glasses of water with activated carbon (10-15 tablets).

b) If the product accidentally gets into your EYES, rinse them thoroughly with a stream of water or a 2% solution of baking soda, generously for several minutes. If irritation of the mucous membrane occurs, drop 30% sodium sulfacyl into the eyes; if painful, 2% novocaine solution.

c) in case of contact with SKIN, wash with soap and water.

d) if the product gets into the STOMACH, drink several glasses of water and induce vomiting, then rinse the stomach with a 2% solution of baking soda or drink 1-2 glasses of water with activated carbon (10-15 tablets).

After providing first aid, the victim should consult a doctor. The antidote is atropine sulfate.

Environmental issues

In case of accidental leakage of a large amount of product, it is necessary to cover it with sorbent non-flammable material (for example, sand or earth) and then collect it for subsequent disposal. Treat the contaminated area with bleach slurry (1 kg/10 liters of water), then rinse with water.

Do not allow undiluted product to enter waste (surface) or ground water or sewer systems.

Product description

Agran is a powerful drug designed to combat insects. It positively stands out among others with its formula, which acts gently and quickly. Agran's price distinguishes it from other similar substances. Pest control services have been using it for a long time, but the insecticide is also suitable for home use. Agran is produced in India, and its quality is superior to many European products. The drug has a shelf life of about two years, and the 1 liter volume makes it easy to use. You can buy Agran of original production from us.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Distinctive advantages of the drug "Agran":

Among the conditional “disadvantages” are increased safety requirements. Since the drug "Agran" is a professional product, therefore, it requires particularly careful adherence to the instructions for use and precautions.

*** This material is for informational purposes only; consultation with specialists is required.

Consumption rates for the treatment of bedbugs

In accordance with the official instructions for use, to remove bed bugs, Agran is recommended to be diluted in a concentration of 5.5 ml per 1 liter of water (the contents of one 50 ml bottle are diluted in 9 liters of water). However, exterminators with experience in this field advise increasing the concentration by diluting 10 ml of the drug in 1 liter of water.

In the future, when treating a room, it is recommended to apply 50 ml of the resulting working solution to each square meter of surface being treated that does not absorb moisture, and 100 ml of the working solution to the same absorbent surface area.

The table below shows the norms for diluting Agran with water when removing various insects (excerpt from the instructions):

(If it is intended to combat several types of insects simultaneously, then a solution with the highest required concentration is prepared).

Review:

“I tried using Agran for bed bugs. He sprayed all the wallpaper joints, baseboards and crevices, threw out the mattresses, and my wife washed all the clothes at high temperature and ironed them. But after 2 months the bedbugs appeared again. I repeated the treatment again, but the result was the same. Then the guys from the SES told me that nothing was helping me because the bedbugs were getting into the apartment from the neighbors.”

Ivan Sergeevich, Tambov

How does Agran act on cockroaches?

The active ingredients of Agran - chlorpyrifos and cypermethrin, upon contact with the body of an insect, lead to its infection. Therefore, for an insect to die, it is not at all necessary to swallow the insecticide; even getting it on its paws eventually leads to the death of the parasite.

Agran destroys not only cockroaches, but also wasps, bedbugs, fleas, ants, flies and mosquitoes

Death does not occur immediately - approximately 6-8 hours will pass until this moment. During this time, the parasite will certainly visit the colony and come into contact with other individuals. As a result, the insecticide will be transferred to other cockroaches, and they, in turn, will infect the remaining colony.

In about a week, the colony of cockroaches will be completely exterminated (but it all depends on its size, sometimes it takes longer). The spread of the insecticide also involves cockroaches eating their dead “compatriots” - thus they also become infected.

After the death of the entire colony, the product will have a protective effect for some time (usually for 1-2 months). In addition to killing cockroaches, the product can also eliminate house ants, bedbugs and mites.

How effective is the method?

Agran's effectiveness is quite high if you use the product at home. But efficiency can be negatively affected by unsanitary conditions in the apartment, since in such conditions the return of the problem is a matter of time.

The drug will remove cockroaches, but remaining unsanitary conditions will be a predisposing factor to re-infestation (the appearance of a colony of cockroaches). Therefore, you first need to carry out a general cleaning of the apartment, and only then use the product.

Pros and cons of use

The advantages of Agran are so good that they outweigh the few disadvantages. The benefits include:

  1. Destroys various types of insect pests.
  2. Has a residual protective effect (for 3-8 weeks). Hatched insect larvae will also be destroyed by the product.
  3. Cheapness of the product.
  4. Easy to use.
  5. Versatility - if you have several insect pests in your apartment at once, you do not need to buy several products; using one Agran is enough.

Disadvantages of the product:

  • the effect does not occur immediately, it must take from 3 to 7 days before the death of the colony (and a few more days for the death of the larvae);
  • is a toxic product and requires compliance with the rules for use, as otherwise intoxication is possible;
  • It has an unpleasant pungent odor, which is very difficult to drown out.
