Instructions for use Confidant against bedbugs with price and reviews

Step-by-step instructions for using Confidant will help you use this effective drug correctly.

The fairly effective product “Kofidant” is known to many, but not everyone knows how to use it.

This article provides brief instructions for using the anti-bedbug drug “Confidant”.

This product has a long-standing reputation for removing insects.

It is often used in Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and other CIS countries, and no one complained about its inability to defeat harmful brats.

Confidant's action

The active component of Confidant is the neonicotinoid imidacloprid. When this substance enters the body or digestive system of an insect, it affects its nervous system, which leads to the death of the pest. The effect of the drug begins 2-3 hours after treatment. Confidant is not addictive to pests, so there is no need to alternate it with other insecticides.

The drug has a low consumption rate and is effective even at high temperatures. The protective period is six weeks. In addition, the drug does not leave any traces on plants. To one degree or another, analogues of Confidant can be considered the drugs Alfacin, Alatar, Diptron, Duplet, Tsipromal, Sipaz Super, Sichlor, Tsifoks, Clean House, Tetracin, Cucaracha, Sinuzan, Fufanon, Iskra Super, Tsiradon, Chlorpirimark and Breeze 25%.

Purpose

The product is designed to kill various insects. It proves its effectiveness even when used on established populations.

The most powerful effect is on the following pests:

  • Fleas;
  • Flies;
  • Mosquitoes;
  • Cockroaches;
  • Bedbugs;
  • Ants.

Confidant can be used both at home and professionally. Well suited for use in public catering establishments, medical institutions and children's institutions.

Instructions for use of Confidant

Confidant is available in the form of a light yellow aqueous emulsion in bottles with a capacity of 50 ml and 1 liter. To prepare 1 liter of active solution, the required dose of the drug is dissolved in a small amount of water, after which the solution is brought to the required volume with constant stirring.

Consumption of the drug per 1 liter of water:

  • to fight cockroaches – 2.5 ml;
  • against mosquito larvae – 0.45 ml;
  • from ants and bedbugs – 1.25 ml;
  • against adult mosquitoes and fleas – 0.625 ml;
  • to combat adult flies – 50 ml.

For treating a hygroscopic surface, the average consumption of the working solution is 100 ml/m2, and for treating a surface that does not absorb moisture - 50 ml/m2.

Prices

The price for Confidant is not fixed.

In one place you will be offered more expensive, in another cheaper.

In any case, you won’t be able to pay less than 5,000 rubles per liter.

For a 50 ml bottle of the drug, sellers demand 700-750 rubles.

This applies not only to the Internet, but also to stores and departments in hypermarkets that sell poisonous chemicals.

Greater demand for insecticide is observed in regional centers (Moscow, St. Petersburg, if you live in the Russian Federation), where it is easier to get it and prices may be slightly lower.

You can buy “Confidant” for bedbugs anywhere, but still pay attention so that they don’t sell you a fake (and this happens).

Precautionary measures

Treatment of plants with the active Confidant solution must be carried out late in the evening or very early in the morning, when bees are not yet flying: the drug is also dangerous for these insects.

  • When working with the drug, you need to wear protective clothing, a respirator, gloves, rubber boots and special glasses.
  • It is prohibited to prepare the working solution in containers that will later be used for food consumption.
  • Do not drink, eat or smoke during the procedure.
  • At the end of work, you need to change clothes, wash your hands and face with soap, and rinse your mouth with a weak soda solution or water.
  • You can enter the premises that have been treated by the Confidant only after 10 hours.

Release form

"Confidor" is presented for sale in the form of a transparent liquid (emulsion) and in the form of a brownish-coffee powder.

Release form of the liquid preparation:

  • plastic bottles of 0.5 liters;
  • plastic bottles of 1 liter;
  • blisters - 6 ampoules of 1.3 ml;
  • blisters – 6 ampoules of 2 ml.

Advice

For small farms or for treating indoor plants and orchids, disposable sachets (granules) or the preparation in ampoules (emulsion) are very practical. They are convenient to breed and, for example, having treated a small pot of petunias from the ubiquitous aphids, you do not need to worry about subsequent storage, because we must not forget that an insecticide is a poison, although it is not dangerous for the nervous system of warm-blooded animals.

Powder form (water-soluble granules) is also available in several versions:

  • 1 g sachet package;
  • 5 g sachet package;
  • plastic bottles of 400 g.

First aid

The recommendations below are intended only for providing FIRST aid, after which you should immediately consult a doctor and follow his instructions! DO NOT SELF-medicate!

  • If nausea, upset stomach, vomiting, malaise, or headache occur, the victim must be urgently removed from the area of effect of the drug.
  • If the drug gets on the skin, the area should be washed with plenty of running water.
  • If the Confidant gets into your eyes, they should be rinsed under running water in an open state for 10 minutes.
  • If the drug is swallowed, you should immediately drink several glasses of water and induce vomiting, then take activated charcoal at the rate of 1 tablet per 10 kg of the victim’s body weight.
  • Providing first aid does not eliminate the need to urgently see a doctor!

Chemicals against beetles

When the beetle infestation is large, and even more so if a lot of potatoes are planted, you will have to resort to the help of chemicals.

Products used to protect cultivated plants from insect pests are called insecticides. There are a lot of such drugs based on various active ingredients. Most often, their spectrum of action is quite wide.

One of these drugs is an effective remedy for the Colorado potato beetle. This product copes well not only with it, but also with many other pests of garden crops.

Drug Napoval

Napoval contains 2 active ingredients:

  • Alpha-cypermethrin. In a liter of suspension its content is 100 g. A substance from the permetroid group, synthesized by analogy with a natural insecticide based on the pyrethrum plant, familiar to many chamomile. It affects the nervous system of cold-blooded animals, including the Colorado potato beetle, by destroying cell membranes, which causes paralysis of the nervous system of the pest. The drug acts upon contact with it and when it enters the intestines of an insect. Half of the drug decomposes into safe substances in 69 days.
  • Imidocloprid. A liter of suspension contains 300 g. This substance belongs to the class of synthetic neonicotinoids and also acts on the nervous system of cold-blooded animals, disrupting the conduction of nerve impulses. Lethal if it hits any part of the insect. The effectiveness of the substance is very high; only about 10% of individuals remain alive. Penetrating into potato tissue, imidocloprid, due to chemical reactions, turns into chloronicotinic acid, which is an antidepressant for potatoes. Consequently, it has a double effect: in addition to suppressing the Colorado potato beetle, it also heals potato bushes, increasing their productivity.

Mechanism of action

Imidacloprid is able to penetrate the tissues of potato plants. Moving through the vessels, it quickly penetrates the leaves, making them poisonous to both beetle larvae and adults. This effect lasts for about 3 weeks. All this time, potato plants remain poison for beetles of any age. And even vagrant individuals will not be able to damage the plants. The effect of the drug will be noticeable within a few hours. And in a couple of days it will reach its peak. Pests of any age are affected. It will be in effect for almost another month. The frequency of treatments is 2, but at least 3 weeks must pass before digging up the potatoes. Weather conditions do not affect the effectiveness of the drug.

Mode of application

The instructions included with the drug recommend diluting 3 ml or one ampoule of Napoval in water. Its maximum quantity is 9 liters, when there are few pests. The minimum is 6 liters for a high degree of infestation with larvae and beetles. After thorough mixing, the solution is poured into a spraying device and the potato plantings are treated, trying to wet all the leaves.

This amount of solution is enough to treat an area of two hundred square meters. Advice! It is better to carry out the treatment when there is no wind or rain, then the preparation will not be washed off with water, and the wind will not interfere with completely moistening all the potato leaves.

Toxicity of the drug and safety measures

On the spot, it has a hazard class of 3, it is moderately dangerous for humans, but all animals can suffer greatly from its action, therefore it is strictly prohibited to carry out treatments near water bodies or to pour the remaining solution there, so as not to harm fish and other aquatic inhabitants. But the drug is very toxic to bees. For them, it has the first - the highest hazard class.

Potatoes should not be processed during flowering.

There is information that contact with the drug can cause poisoning of pets.

You can go to the treated area to carry out manual work no earlier than 10 days; mechanical work can begin earlier, after 4 days.

The treatment should be carried out in special clothing, gloves and a respirator must be worn.

Advantages

  • Recently developed.
  • Does not have phytotoxicity.
  • Has high efficiency.
  • Thanks to two active ingredients, the Colorado potato beetle does not become addicted to the drug.
  • Moderately dangerous for all warm-blooded animals and humans.
  • The range of pests it affects is very wide.
  • There are no weather restrictions for use.
  • Relieves stress in plants, increasing their productivity.
  • Small consumption rate.
  • Low price.

Potato plantings need protection from such a dangerous pest as the Colorado potato beetle. The drug Napoval can help with this.

Reviews

Olga: Confidant is the only remedy that has rid the house of cockroaches, and before that we used both Tsifox and boric acid. The smell of Confidant is quite tolerable, it leaves no traces, and most importantly, it can be treated repeatedly, since it does not become addictive. However, two treatments were enough for me.

Nikolay: Confidant is very effective on bed bugs. True, I had to treat my grandmother’s sofa twice, and between treatments I had to keep it in the yard, but there were no bedbugs left.

Anna: A neighbor at the dacha told me about Confidant: they say she removed ants from her property with this product. I don’t have anthills, and somehow I missed it. And then I complained to my neighbor that the new tenants had brought cockroaches into the entrance, and she again reminded me about Confidant. I bought the drug for all my neighbors. They poisoned the entire entrance at the same time. There are no cockroaches yet. It’s amazing that literally in one go.

How to get rid of bark beetle?

Is it possible to get rid of the bark beetle using Confidor? If this pest is found in the walls of a wooden house, and cases of infection are isolated, then insect poison (insecticide) is quite capable of coping with the problem. In this case, a solution of the same concentration is prepared as for the Colorado potato beetle, and using a syringe it is poured into the holes - the detected bark beetle passages. After this, the passages are covered with paraffin or putty. If there are many passages and the affected area is large, other methods of pest control are used.

“Confidor” is also used as a barrier method of protection against bark beetles in the garden. With this method of protection, the solution is sprayed on the trunks of healthy trees. Affected trees are treated with injections, where the main active ingredient is an insecticide. In this case, you need to consult with a specialist: is it possible to use Confidor for injection against the bark beetle, since it is not suitable for all tree crops when injected internally. There are no restrictions for external barrier treatment.

So, the modern insecticide “Confidor” will certainly meet your expectations and help get rid of a variety of pests - cockroaches, aphids, bark beetles and many others (but it is worth remembering that you will have to look for other remedies for ticks). How long it will take to destroy every single individual depends on the type of insect and the correct application of the solution. The main thing is to be patient, carefully study the instructions, check the expiration date of the insecticide, and you can safely save your favorite petunias or vegetables, regardless of how much land you have at your disposal - a couple of flower pots or a field of several hectares.

Composition of the drug

The insecticide was developed by Bayer Crop Science. The drug contains three components:

  • wettable powder;
  • concentrated emulsion;
  • water-soluble concentrate.

The powder dissolves well, so “Confidor”, reviews confirm this fact, is very convenient to use in greenhouses - its solution does not clog spray nozzles.

Experts warn that due to the high effectiveness of the drug, it is highly likely that you can buy a fake on the market; you need to be careful.

The secret of this product is its additive - the pesticide penticurin (in other sources - pencicurin). This is a fairly safe, mild fungicide. It is resistant to hydrolysis and sunlight; the half-life in soil is 180 days.

Its main active ingredient is the neonicotinoid imidacloprid. It is very toxic and can accumulate. Systematic penetration of microdoses into the body can lead to poisoning and severe side effects, this fact is confirmed by reviews. When to process and instructions for using Confidor are described below.

Description of the drug "Napoval"

Experts from all over the world are working to create a universal remedy against the Colorado potato beetle, which would allow us to get rid of the pest once and for all. There is no such drug yet, but brands have been created that successfully reduce the number of individuals, and therefore minimize the damage caused. One of these popular ones is the insecticide “Napoval”. Many gardeners who have used it believe that this is the most effective remedy. It belongs to the category of contact-intestinal substances. The composition contains two main ingredients: imidacloprid and alpha-cypermethrin, which act on the nervous system of beetles in different ways, but both are guaranteed to lead to their death. You can buy a concentrated suspension for sale in the following packages:

  • sealed bag of 3 ml or 5 ml;
  • plastic bottle - 1 l;
  • cylinder - 5 l.

Manufacturers have provided different volumes for processing large and small areas.

Analogues of Confidor

You can also find other insecticides with a similar effect on sale, such as Confidor Extra. Moreover, for many, the active component is present in the same concentration. The difference lies only in the additional components that are present in the composition. Therefore, most of them have a targeted effect and are suitable only for certain types of crops, as indicated in the instructions.

The main analogues of Confidor and their scope of application:

  1. Tanrek – Colorado potato beetle, aphid, apple grower, whitefly.

  2. Corado - Colorado potato beetle.

  3. Iskra Zolotaya – whitefly, locusts, aphids, wireworms, thrips, Colorado potato beetle.

  4. Commander – Colorado potato beetle, whitefly, aphid, wireworm, thrips.

What is the drug and how does it work

It is a means of protection against harmful insects, therefore it belongs to the category of insecticides. Used for the prevention and destruction of the following species:

  • Colorado potato beetle,
  • aphids,
  • thrips,
  • scale insects,
  • worms.

"Aktara" is widely known as an effective remedy against the Colorado potato beetle, but it destroys many more pests.
Important! Note! The drug is ineffective against whiteflies. Does not affect ticks because they are arachnids and require acaricides against them

The drug is produced by many manufacturers who assign their own name to the drug. The most common analogues are:

  • Doctor, TB;
  • Cruiser, KS;
  • Ephoria, KS
  • Tiara, KS, etc.

In order not to make a mistake in choosing a drug, you need to pay attention to the active substance - thiamethoxam, which paralyzes the nervous system of insects. It is this that underlies all analogues

It is this that underlies all analogues.

Forms of production - in bags, as water-dispersible granules, or suspension in bottles or ampoules in the form of a liquid concentrate.

According to their mode of action, they belong to the category of systemic insecticides. This means that the substance penetrates into plant tissue and is redistributed along the stems and leaves through sap flow. Almost none gets into the fruits, which makes them safe for consumption.

If there is a need to use Aktara several times in a row, it is worth remembering that the drug has a fairly high resistance. This means that the group of insects against which the substance is used develop immunity and the drug no longer affects them. In this regard, it is better to change the drug during repeated treatments.

Moreover, changing the name is not enough; it is important to make sure that the product contains a different active ingredient. During the third or fourth session, you can return to “Aktar” again
