Shampoo and spray Lavinal for lice and nits - reviews, instructions for use

The problem of pediculosis worries biochemists in our 21st century. Today there are many ways to get rid of lice at home. But these parasitic insects easily adapt to each of them quite quickly. Lavinal anti-lice spray has positive reviews, and this gives hope for solving the problem.

Pediculosis: where does it come from, how does it manifest?

Lice are blood-sucking, parasitic insects that live on the scalp and attach their eggs to the hair. They are carriers of infectious diseases: relapsing and typhus.

Pediculosis is very easy to get infected. To do this, just use someone else's comb or wear someone else's headdress. The first signs may appear after a few days. If a nit gets into the hair, symptoms appear after a week. Each louse lays about 15 eggs per day. They reproduce very quickly. Bites may leave scratches on the scalp. If treatment is not taken, hair may begin to fall out.

Lice immediately begin to bite the new owner. This manifests itself as severe itching under the hair. Nits on the hair can easily be confused with dandruff. Only the eggs are not washed off with shampoo and are difficult to comb out.

Rules of application

Using Lavinal in any form is not difficult, so it is accessible and effective at home.
The bottle of spray should be shaken well and applied to dry hair in the direction from the roots along the entire length. The hair should be evenly moisturized. After this, a protective cap is put on the head and remains in it for half an hour. The last step of the procedure is to rinse your hair with warm water.

For greater effectiveness, Lavinal spray is purchased together with shampoo. After treating your hair with a spray, dead nits may remain on the hair because they are firmly glued to it. Lavinal shampoo removes stickiness and helps remove nits.

The rules for using Lavinal herbal shampoo are the same as when washing your hair with regular shampoo:

  • application to hair previously moistened with water;
  • head massage.

There is no need to rush to wash off the shampoo; let it remain on your hair for a few minutes (you can wear a cap during this time). After this, the product is washed off and the hair is combed with a comb.

Special attention should be paid to working with the comb. The hair is divided into small strands and slowly combed out from the very roots. In this case, the comb must be frequently wiped with a swab or rinsed in water, clearing it of dead insects.

Composition, types and methods of use of Lavinal

Lavinal is used for head lice. This problem is most often faced by children and people working in kindergartens and schools. It helps get rid of parasites and their larvae. It has two forms of release: spray and shampoo. The bottles are packed in cardboard boxes with instructions for use written on them. Lavinal is produced in Ukraine. It can be used by adults and children from 2 years old. According to the instructions, it is recommended to use the spray and shampoo together.

It is used as follows:

  1. Apply the spray to unwashed hair. Treatment begins with the roots, then evenly distributed along the entire length. Stop application as soon as the hair becomes damp. Particular attention is paid to the back of the head and areas behind the ears.
  2. Put on a special cap and leave for half an hour.
  3. Then wash your hair with shampoo from the same series.
  4. Comb out dead parasites on damp hair with a metal comb.

Important! After 7-10 days, repeat preventive treatment is carried out according to the same algorithm.

The spray must not be taken orally as it may cause poisoning. Spray away from fire. When processing, make sure that the contents do not get into the eyes and nose. In case of such contact, the contact area is washed with plenty of water. If there is a need to use the product while carrying a child and breastfeeding, you should consult a doctor.

Shampoo Lavinal

Lavinal shampoo is a safe herbal remedy for head lice that does not contain artificial chemicals. Due to its composition, it weakens the substance that attaches lice larvae to hair, making nits easier to comb out. Improves the condition of the scalp, reduces itching and discomfort from parasite bites and scratching.

The shampoo contains:

  • distilled water;
  • sodium chloride;
  • rosemary essential oil;
  • phenonip;
  • cocoyl monosodium glutamate;
  • disodium sulfosuccinate;
  • lemon acid;
  • ylang-ylang essential oil.

Spray Lavinal

This is a herbal remedy to combat parasites and their larvae. The spray allows you to evenly distribute the drug over the entire length of the hair. It comes with a special metal comb for combing and a cellophane cap to enhance the effect. Parasites do not get used to the product, so it can be used repeatedly. The bottle contains 100 ml of the substance, it is enough for 3-8 times depending on the length of the hair.

Composition of Lavinal spray:

  • lavender essential oil;
  • ylang-ylang essential oil;
  • preservative;
  • water-alcohol extract of mint.

Important! Spray Lavinal is a herbal remedy that is not a medicine.

In order to forget about lice forever and not return to this issue, it is recommended to additionally sanitize clothes, hats, scarves, combs and children's toys. They are washed in hot water and ironed. They also carry out general cleaning in the rooms where the patient was, using chemical cleaning products.

Properties and composition of the drug

Lavinal has several advantages over previous generations of anti-pediculosis drugs:

  • natural base (no toxic insecticides);
  • lack of addiction (resistance) of insects to the drug;
  • with subsequent uses it remains just as effective.

Lavinal is available in two forms:

  • spray;
  • shampoo.

These forms are easy to use.

If previous generations of drugs for head lice were synthesized on the basis of chlorine and organophosphorus compounds with insecticidal action, Lavinal spray contains aromatic oils (lavender and ylang-ylang), as well as mint extract. This combination provides a gentle effect on the scalp of adults and children over 2 years old.

The components of the drug were not chosen randomly. Parasitic insects are susceptible to odors; some of the aromas become harmful to them, affecting the respiratory system. The smell of lavender, mint and ylang-ylang remains on a person’s hair for some time. This eliminates the possibility of lice reproducing and serves as a way to prevent head lice.

The spray is available in small 100 ml bottles; the set includes:

  • protective cap;
  • metal comb for combing out lice and nits.

The comb has long teeth, which make it easier to comb out nits and lice even from curly and long hair.

The use of Lavinal requires compliance with certain rules. The product should be sprayed, being careful not to get on the mucous membrane of the eyes and mouth. If the spray accidentally gets on the mucous membrane, you should immediately rinse the area with water. For safety reasons, the procedure should be done away from open fire.

Lavinal shampoo is also plant-based and contains essential oils of ylang-ylang and rosemary. Thanks to this composition, the adhesive substance with which nits are attached to the hair softens, which makes them easier to comb out.

Advantages and disadvantages

The product is safe for use in children and adults, as it has no side effects. According to consumer reviews, this drug is increasingly used for head lice. It has many advantages:

  • the plant composition does not cause harm to human health;
  • relieves inflammation and neutralizes the scalp;
  • relieves itching;
  • promotes healing of scratches from bites and scratching.
  • convenient principle of use;
  • low cost and free sale in pharmacies and online stores.

Among the disadvantages, we can note the not very pleasant smell of the shampoo, which is caused by a mixture of essential oils.

Lice remedy PRO-PHARMA, FF Elfa Lavinal - reviews

I think that every mother, seeing something moving in her beloved child’s hair, experiences horror that makes her own hair stand up. It’s especially terrible if the “beloved child” is a daughter with waist-length hair! First you go to school (kindergarten), whisper in the teacher’s ear for the nurse to check the whole class, and then rush to the pharmacy, where you also quietly explain to the pharmacist what you came for. Old products (for example, Nittifor, to which lice have already lost sensitivity) do not inspire confidence; kerosene is scary to remember (especially when you consider that you have to apply it yourself. But no one has canceled the work!). You look hopefully into the eyes of the girl behind the counter. How grateful I am to this very girl!!! Madam Pharmacist, you just saved me! It was you who suggested this remedy to me! From her lips it sounded like an invitation to a spa salon: essential oils of ylang-ylang, lavender…. So “LAVINAL”: The active substances of the spray - natural essential oils of lavender and ylang-ylang - mechanically block the respiratory system of parasites, which eliminates the possibility of developing resistance to this product. I was struck by the packaging and shape of the drug: a spray bottle (100 ml), a plastic cap and a thin metal comb.

It is very convenient to apply the product

: the bottle fits well in the hand (it has an oval shape at the bottom), the sprayer is excellent, it’s easy to apply evenly on the hair.
Then you need to put on a plastic cap edged with an elastic band (no bags are needed, with holes for the ears) and wait half an hour. The drug kills adult lice, nits and neutralizes the glue that attaches nits to the hair. And then we comb it out with a comb, strand by strand. The scallop is simply a miracle!
Metal teeth, tightly adjacent to one another, with a total width of 4 cm, comb out every disgusting insect, every nit - just wash the comb. But the most disgusting thing is picking nits from long hair. How much time is wasted on them, and, along with the nits pulled out, hair!
Friends who remove lice from children using other means borrowed the comb and were absolutely delighted with it. Moreover, this comb makes it very possible to comb out living creatures for yourself. But involving others in extracting nits from one’s own head is a dubious pleasure. And here it’s quiet, calm, intimate, one might say, you can comb everything out yourself. The comb glides smoothly through the hair due to the Lavinal composition, as if it contains conditioner. The product has the scent of essential oils. Quite harsh due to ylang-ylang, but not suffocating. The product washes off very easily. The smell remains on the hair, but no one would think that it is the smell of a lice remedy. You can easily go to work or school with it. The hair is really shiny and smooth, as if the goal was to improve its condition. One bottle was enough for me to treat my daughter’s head (long hair), myself (shoulder-length hair), and after another 8 days, re-treat my daughter’s head.
I had to buy another set for myself.
Re-processing is required!
After all, if something has survived somewhere, it must be finished off. And after secondary processing - the result is 100%. Your peace of mind is guaranteed. The basis of the drug is herbal ingredients. It is non-toxic and safe for children. Of course, no one has canceled individual intolerance to components. This miracle costs 60-70 UAH. in different pharmacies, but the price is justified by its effectiveness and ease of use. In general, the ease and pleasantness of using Lavinal can serve as at least some consolation in this unpleasant situation.
