There should be the same amount or more on the sides, but not less, otherwise the loop will not fit along the axis of symmetry and therefore there is no point in tying it in this way - this will be especially noticeable on masks such as “rice”, “oatmeal”, etc.

And the fact is that if you use a rigid knot, it will be possible to adjust the orientation angle of the bait, which is very important when experimenting with knots without rewinding. Everything else: the hook is free, and any landing will “walk” on it to the maximum.

Subtleties of tying tungsten jigs with a hole

Typically tungsten masks are equipped with a ring. However, some of these lures sold in fishing stores may have a hole in them. It is clear that any fisherman, without hesitation, will knit such a mask in the classic way.
