Mosquito spray Taiga - insect repellent

Summer is the time for long-awaited vacations and holidays. This period has many charms, but it also has its drawbacks. And one of these problems is mosquitoes. Annoying insects not only spoil your holiday with their squeaks, but also inflict bites, which subsequently cause severe itching and even allergies. There are many products for exterminating pests that differ in release form and composition. Taiga mosquito repellents are in great demand among the population.

On a note!

The Taiga company presents a whole line of products that differ in the method of application.

Composition and release forms

Products against insect pests Taiga are toxic products of nerve paralytic action based on the insecticides transfluthrin, diethyltoluamide, DV-dimethylphthalate.

The product line includes:

  • spray aerosol;
  • cream;
  • lotion;
  • plates and liquid for fumigator;
  • spiral.

Each of the products has a different concentration and principle of action, but all products have the following advantages in common:

  1. Instant destruction of bloodsuckers.
  2. Low price.
  3. Effective effect of use.
  4. Convenient packaging of all forms of product release.
  5. Long-term protection against mosquito attacks.
  6. Low toxicity and safety for humans, subject to compliance with application standards.

The use of Taiga brand products is not recommended:

  • children under 3 years old;
  • women during pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • in case of individual intolerance to the components of the drug;
  • during periods of exacerbation of dermatological and respiratory diseases;
  • for skin hypersensitivity and a tendency to allergies.

Composition of the spray "Taiga Anti-mite"

Spray ingredients:

  • isopropanol 86%. Replaces food grade ethyl alcohol in household chemicals. May cause poisoning. Children under 6 years of age are most often affected. To poison an adult with isopropyl alcohol, you need to ingest at least 50 ml of the substance. But death occurs after a one-time use of 0.5 liters of isopropanol;
  • neonol. A surfactant used in many industries. Including textile. One of the components of winter windshield washer fluid and car shampoos;
  • alpha-cypermethrin. An insectoacaricidal substance that kills ticks and flying insects that carelessly touch it. Unlike other anti-tick medications, the content of alpha-cypermethrin in Taiga is quite low: only 0.17%;
  • ethylcellosolve. A universal solvent, miscible with both water and any other solvents. Essentially it is an ether capable of rapid evaporation after spraying on clothing;
  • water;
  • preservative

Duration of protection against ticks is 15 days. According to the manufacturer.

Spray

Taiga in aerosol form is considered the most convenient option for using an insecticide. Available in bottles of 50, 100, 125 ml, the active ingredients are DEET and DV-dimethyl phthalate. Additionally, the product is enhanced with a natural repellent – clove essential oil.

The product is applied to skin and clothing and does not require rubbing. Protects against bites of blood-sucking insects for 4 hours, but use is allowed no more than 3 times a day. Avoid getting the product on scratches, wounds, burns, or mucous membranes.

The spray is considered a universal composition that will protect against mosquitoes, horse flies, midges and mosquitoes. The product for children aged 3 years and older has the same composition and properties, but the insecticide is presented in a solution of lower concentration.

Disadvantages of the product

Due to its high quality, the product began to be actively counterfeited, so today it is easy to buy a fake that will not work. May be washed away by rain.

It cannot be used as a mosquito repellent, since the action of the anti-tick drug is based on contact action. Mosquitoes need to land on the treated surface, and they land on the skin. Anti-mite should not be sprayed on unprotected skin. This is where the disadvantages end, except for the lack of mental activity of some acaricide consumers.

Lotion and cream

Thanks to DV-dimethylphthalate (35%), the product in the form of a liquid emulsion protects exposed skin from bites for 3 hours, and the clove oil in the composition enhances the repellent effect.

The lotion is applied to the hands, feet, neck and face, without rubbing. Avoid getting the product in your mouth, nose, or eyes; in case of contact, wash these areas with soap and water. When applied, the emulsion does not stain clothes and dries quickly.

Convenient packaging in the form of a 50 ml bottle is suitable for taking the product with you on long trips and outdoors. The shelf life of the product is 2 years.

The cream has a similar composition and effect, with the only difference being that it is distributed over the surface of the skin in a thicker layer of 2–3 mm.

Concentrate

Liquid for protection against mosquitoes
Concentrated liquid Taiga against mosquitoes has a composition and principle of action similar to the plates. Its only distinctive feature is the way it is used. The liquid insecticide is placed in an electric fumigator, which is plugged into the network. When heated, the composition begins to evaporate. The advantages of this tool are:

  • no odor;
  • quick effect (observed within 5-15 minutes from the moment the device is connected to the network);
  • This method of protection against bloodsuckers gives a good effect on an area of up to 30 square meters. m.

Review

Taiga liquid was used almost throughout the entire summer period. Quickly and effectively kills mosquitoes indoors. I also like the fact that it is not at all necessary to leave the device in the socket all night.

Plates and liquids for fumigator

To protect your home from mosquito invasion, insecticides are used, the vapors of which spread when heated in a fumigator. Both products are odorless and operate at full power 15 minutes after connecting the device to the network.

Taiga plates are pieces of pressed cardboard impregnated with transfluthrin, which last for 12 hours.

The liquid is produced in the form of plastic bottles, which are screwed onto the fumigator and are effective for 30 or 45 days. It will take 1 hour to completely kill mosquitoes in a room of 20 m2. Taiga bottles are suitable for devices from different manufacturers.

The use of electronic devices with insecticides is permitted only in ventilated areas. Fumes from plates and liquids are deadly to fish and reptiles, so fumigation devices should not be turned on in rooms with aquariums and terrariums.

Operating plate and liquid devices are located no closer than 150 cm from places where a person sleeps and rests and no lower than 55 cm from the floor.

Plate

Anti-mosquito plates
With the arrival of summer, mosquitoes are a panacea not only for lovers of country holidays, but also for residents of multi-storey buildings. Bloodsuckers are able to “leak” into the smallest cracks, flying towards the light burning in the windows. To protect premises, Taiga company specialists have launched the production of plates (pressed tablets) intended for use in a fumigator.

Taiga mosquito repellent plates are impregnated with a special mixture, which includes DV-transfluthrin. The insecticide in minimal quantities does not pose a threat to human health or pets. You can use Taiga mosquito repellent plates in rooms where there are children over two years of age.

When the device is plugged in, it heats the tablet, as a result of which the active component begins to be released into the air within a quarter of an hour. The repellent effect of the plate is effective even with open windows and lasts for 12 hours.

Spirals

A spiral-shaped pyrotechnic fumigator is used to protect people outdoors. The active ingredient in the product – allethrin (0.25%) – destroys bloodsuckers in 6-7 minutes. The spiral burns out completely in 8 hours and is used outdoors and indoors.

When the product smolders, it emits a small amount of odorless smoke, so it is recommended to place the spiral at a distance of at least 1.5 meters from people and pets.

To choose which of the Taiga brand products to purchase, it is important to decide how many people and under what initial conditions need to be protected from attacks by bloodsuckers.

For evening walks, hiking and traveling, cream, lotion and aerosol are appropriate. Fumigators with plates and liquids will ensure a restful sleep, and your outdoor recreation will not be spoiled by mosquitoes thanks to the action of the Taiga spiral.

Mode of application

Suits intended for processing are laid out on a horizontal surface or hung in the fresh air. You can also use it in a well-ventilated area, but due to the high chemical content in the spray, a confined space is undesirable.

The spray is sprayed in the direction of the wind, since suspension entering the respiratory tract can cause an unpleasant burning sensation. Spray the spray from a distance of 20 cm. The bottle is held at arm's length. Estimated consumption: 1 press on an area of 10x10 cm.

Handle with special care:

  • whole trousers;
  • shirt cuffs and collars;
  • any other places where ticks can enter the body.

After treatment, clothes must be dried and worn only over underwear, avoiding contact with the skin. Repeated treatment is carried out after 10-15 days or after washing clothes.

Mosquito cream

Taiga mosquito repellent cream is available in a compact and convenient plastic tube; it is ideal for local treatment of small open areas of the body: neck, face, hands.

Application of cream: apply a thin layer of the product to exposed areas, do not rub. Provides protection for 3 hours, can be reused no more than 3 times a day. The drug contains 35% DV-dimethyl phthalate, clove essential oil.

Review

The whole family used the cream during a picnic. We bought it in a hurry and after seeing the picture of a family on the packaging, we decided that it could also be used for children. It turned out that no, and this upset us a little - misinformation. However, they used it on a five-year-old child and found no negative effects.

Plates Taiga Family

Mosquito repellent plates are considered a fairly reliable and safe way to protect premises from mosquitoes. It is safe for everyone in the family and lasts all night.

The action of the plate begins within 15-20 minutes after its activation - that is, use in an electric fumigator. If, at the same time, the windows in the room are closed, the elimination of mosquitoes occurs very quickly. Even with the windows open, one plate can protect a bedroom for 12 hours.

Review

We were completely satisfied with the Taiga plates. Their action lasts exactly one night, they protect against mosquitoes a little worse than the Liquid liquid that we used before, in the sense that you need to wait a little until they start to act. They are sufficient for standard room sizes.

Side effects

Due to the large number of rather toxic substances in the spray, side effects may vary. Individual buyers of the spray either do not read the instructions or deliberately violate safety precautions. They spray clothes directly on themselves. But thanks to them, it is known that contact with the spray even on intact skin causes a severe burning sensation. If the skin is damaged, suppuration may develop at the site of the scratches and even more severe pain.

Poisoning with each individual substance may have its own symptoms. Alpha-cypermethrin causes:

  • headache;
  • nausea;
  • sharp pain in the abdomen;
  • vomiting;
  • unpleasant taste in the mouth;
  • dizziness.

The impact of neonol on the human body when the substance enters the esophagus is not particularly covered, but it is classified as moderately dangerous. Since 2005, the European Commission has introduced a ban on the use of neonol in concentrations > 0.1% in any household products. "Taiga Antiklesch" does not violate this ban, but the amount of neonol in the spray is close to the maximum: 0.75%.

Reviews

When using the product according to the instructions, the result of using the anti-tick spray is assessed as excellent. All complaints are related to improper use of the drug. Moreover, the manufacturer warns that violation of the instructions will lead to the mites “breaking through” the protection.

You can find simply enchanting reviews:

  • I put wet clothes on my naked body and got a chemical burn, I don’t recommend the product;
  • I didn’t read the instructions, I sprayed it on my feet, how to treat a burn?

Here we can only note that the instructions for use and precautions must be read before using any chemicals, and not just Taiga Anti-Tick. Or don't complain about the consequences.

Precautionary measures

The product is toxic. It should not be sprayed in an unventilated area. When processing clothing, you must use a mask and goggles to avoid getting the spray into your eyes or respiratory tract. The use of a chemical protection suit will be useful. If he is.

If the spray gets on your skin, immediately wash the affected area with plenty of soap and water. If the drug gets into your mouth, you should immediately rinse your mouth until the poison is absorbed through the mucous membranes.

To treat one suit, you need to use no more than 25 ml of Taiga Anti-Mite spray. In other words, no more than this amount of product should be on a person’s clothing.

Spray storage

The drug is stored out of the reach of children. It is necessary to protect it from direct sunlight. The temperature at which the spray can be safely stored is in the range -5 – +30°C. Cannot be stored together with food products.
